Smoked Turkey and Pinto Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1 smoked turkey leg
  • 1 lb pinto beans, soaked and drained
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Better than Bouillon - Vegetable
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke (optional) - Vegan
  • Water to cover

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients to the crock pot in the order given.
  2. Add enough water so that the ingredients are submerged.
  3. Crockpot: Cook on low for 8 - 10 hours.
  4. Instant Pot: Cook for 1 hour and let the pressure reduce on it's own for at least 30 minutes.
